my first nude scene.

so i participated in this short film of a friend of mine.
my role isn't major, but i am honored to be on screen with all those great actors!

it's a short movie about all the secrets a hotel bed keeps. filmed entirely in 5-star hotel "Schweizerhof" in Lucerne. it's nominated for the "Swiss Hotel Film Award 2011", and we'd be glad if it would actually win this competition. all we need is people to vote for us, so:

i am actually pretty happy how it turned out. have a look:

jun, part four.

here's part four of jun's portfolio-shoot. i was planning to upload those long ago.

colors and the internet.

i finally found out how to display the colors of my photos on this blog correctly!

while this might not change much for my dear visitors, it's big news to me.
i got some negative criticism a while ago saying that some content was too starkly contrasted and the colors were irritatingly strong.
you know, i used to save my images with over-the-top saturation, because the colors always looked washed out and low contrast when put on the internet. i never knew why. plus, my old sony vaio computer i used seemed to have a really odd color calibration, which made it hard for me to judge how others saw my pictures on this blog.

but now,  i bought this macbook pro and learned how to save my jpegs in a web-friendly color profile sRGB, which seems to work. it was Diana's idea to try that, and i'm very thankful. go check out her beautiful art on

see, constructive criticism really helps! gimme more :)

one morning with Hayao Miyazaki.

i had the great pleasure to have spent a morning in the presence of one of the most prominent artists ever.

Hayao Miyazaki (宮崎駿) is the director of some of my favorite films, such as "Princess Mononoke", "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" or "Spirited Away", just to name a few. therefore, i was very excited to meet the famed Japanese Academy Award winner in person!

mister Miyazaki owns a small patch of wood in the metropolitan area of Tokyo which acted as an inspiration for his animated film "My Neighbor Totoro". he seems to have put a lot of money and effort into saving this oasis of green from vanishing.
there is an annual event where he and volunteers (90% of which are his fans, i guess) free the soil from litter and weeds. that's exactly what we did today.

my friends and i managed to talk to Miyazaki-san for a moment, and he even  bumped into me accidentally while we were working, which i think is kinda cool :P

i had a great morning. thanks to T. for inviting me!
